Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 3 \4 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1\2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 \2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 \4 tsp. salt
  • 2 lg. eggs
  • 1 1\2 c buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees
In large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder,baking soda & salt
In separate bowl mix eggs, buttermilk & butter
Pour buttermilk mixture into cornmeal mixture & fold together until there are no dry spots
(batter will be lumpy)
Bake until golden brown about 20 to 25 minutes
Remove and let cool,for 10 minutes
