Banana Bread

Family recipe used by my grandmother and mother.

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 Cups sifted flour
  • 2 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 Cup sugar
  • 2 Jumbo eggs
  • 1 Cup mashed (or puree’d) bananas
  • 1/4 Cup fat (melted and cooled)
  • 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together:
Flour
Baking powder
Baking soda
Salt
Sugar

Add eggs, banana, fat and walnuts, stir quickly and lightly.

Pour batter into a greased and flour-dusted loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees (F) for about one (1) hour. Cool before serving.
