Ingredients
- Browning sauce
- Corned Beef Brisket
- 2 Tbls vegetable oil
- Fresh onion
- fresh garlic
- garlic powder
- 1/2 Cup water
Preparation
Step 1
Slice onion and garlic. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.. Discard any flavoring packet from corned beef. Brush brisket with browning sauce on both sides Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown brisket on both sides in the hot oil, 5 to 8 minutes per side.
Add water to roasting pan. Place brisket on a rack set in a roasting pan. Lightly sprinkle with garlic powder. Scatter onion and garlic slices over brisket Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil.
Roast in the preheated oven until meat is tender, about 6 hours. Removed from oven. Let sit covered until cool enough to easily transfer to cutting board. Slice and served. Wrap remainder in foil used to cover while baking.
Note, as a treat, I poured some of the water from the baking pan over my dog’s food.
