Ingredients
- FILLING
- 4 apples, Honeycrisp for sweet or Granny smith for tart
- 4 Bosc Pears
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 Tablespoons orange juice
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- CRUMBLE TOPPING
- 1-1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- dash of kosher salt
- 1 cup old fashioned oatmeal
- 2 sticks cold butter, diced
Preparation
Step 1
Peel, core, and dice the fruit into 1/2-inch chunks. Place in a large bowl and add the remaining ingredients for the filling. Mix together, then distribute the filling between 12 8-ounce ramekins.
Combine all of the ingredients for the crumble topping in the bowl for an electric mixer, and use the paddle attachment on low speed until the mixture is the size of peas. Sprinkle evenly over the fruit. Place on a baking dish and bake at 35oº for 45 to 55 minutes, until the top is browned and the fruit is bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream.
