Ingredients
- 1 cup shreds of whole bran cereal
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
Preparation
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine cereal and milk. Let stand 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, beat sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add eggs and cereal mixture; beat well. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Mix well. Fold in applesauce
Pour batter into 8x4 or 9x5 pan greased on bottom only.
Bake at 375 deg. for 50-60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
Better served the second day.
