POTATO LATKES

Nice side dish or serve for breakfast with sunny side up eggs.


Ingredients

  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled
  • 1 medium onion
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 cup melted butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Grate potatoes and onions. Splash w/lemon juice and squeeze out excess water. Mix flour, milk, egg, baking powder and nutmeg. Add potatoes and then add the melted better. Heat oil in a skillet and fry until golden on one side; then flip and cook on other side.
