Apple Praline Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 package pie crust
  • 4 cups sliced, peeled apples (6 medium apples)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare pie crust. Preheat oven to 425 F. In a large bowl combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Toss lightly. Spoon mixture into crust-lined pan and dot with butter. Top with second crust. Seal edges and flute. Cut slits in top crust. Bake at 425 F for 35 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with strips of foil after 14 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning. Remove from oven.

Topping: Melt butter in small saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Spread over top of pie.

Place pie on cookie sheet and return to oven. Bake an additional 2 to 3 minutes or until topping bubbles.

Cool 1 hour before serving.
