Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 Cup Flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 3 tsp. Baking Powder
- Pinch of Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- 4 Cups Peeled, pitted, and thinly sliced peaches (5-7).
- 1 Tbs. Fresh Lemon Juice
- Several dashes of ground Cinnamon or Nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees
• While the oven is pre-heating I put the stick of butter in a 9X13 pan and let it melt in the oven.
• In Saucepan, combine peaches, lemon juice, and 1 cup sugar and bring to boil. Heat for about 5-10 minutes stirring constantly.
• Combine: Flour, 1 Cup of Sugar, Baking Powder, and Salt. Mix well and add milk (you don’t have to use a mixer – it mixes real easy). Pour this batter over the butter and DO NOT STIR.
• Pour peaches over batter and DO NOT STIR. Sprinkle with Cinnamon and Nutmeg and bake 40-45 minutes or until top is golden brown.
Note: As the cobbler bakes, the batter bubbles through the peaches to form a crust.
