Sweet and Sour Grilled Shrimp with Chile Sauce

Ingredients

  • Marinade:
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 TBS grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • lime zest
  • 1 1/2 lbs large peeled deveine shrimp
  • Cocktail chile sauce:
  • 1/2 tsp sweet chile sauce
  • 1/2 cup peach preserve
  • 2 TBS hot Chinese mustard

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all marinade ingredients together in ziplock. Add shrimp and refrigerate only 20 minutes.

Grill as usual.

Whisk together sauce ingredients, refrigerate until ready to serve
