COCONUT POUND CAKE

Ingredients

  • FILLING:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
  • -
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar and oil. Add flour and milk. Add eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition. Add coconut, vanilla, and flavoring. Bake in a greased tube pan for 1 hour at 350deg.

FILLING:
Bring to a boil. Pour over cake while warm. Let cake cool in pan approximately 20 minutes.
