Ingredients
- Cucumber Dill Sauce:
- 1 1/2 C. plain yogurt
- 1 small cucumber, peeled, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 T. dill weed
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Gyros:
- 12 oz. sliced turkey
- Greek seasoning
- 6-8 pita bread rounds
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 C. crumbled feta cheese
Preparation
Step 1
For dill sauce: In bowl, combine all ingredients. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight. Lightly sprinkle both sides of turkey slices with Greek seasoning. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place slices in skillet and heat thoroughly until lightly browned; set aside, cover with foil to keep warm. Warm pitas. Fill pitas with turkey and toppings and drizzle with sauce.
