Citrus Gratin with Toasted Almonds

Ingredients

  • 2 Grapefruits
  • 2 tangerines
  • 2 navel oranges
  • 1/2 t finely grated lime zest
  • 1/4 t cinnamon
  • 2 T turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 C sliced almonds
  • 2 t olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat broiler. Set rack 8" from heat.
Using sharp knife, peel grapefruits, oranges & tanerines, removing all bitter pith. Working over bowl, cut in between membranes to release sections into bowl. Gently sitr in cinnamon & lime zest.
Spread citrus section in individual gratin dishes. In small bowl, toss almonds with sugar, oil & salt. Scatter almonds over fruit. Broil @ 2 min, rotating dishes til almonds are deep golden brown. Serve at once.
