Shrimp Fettuccine

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fettucine cook and drain
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 medium onions chopped
  • 2 stalks celery chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 4 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 1/2 pounds shrimp peeled & deveined
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 8 ounces pasteurized processed cheese cubed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In large pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onions, celery, bell pepper and green onions; cooking until tender - about 10 minutes. Stir in flour, mixing well. Add shrimp and parsley; simmer 5 minutes. Add half-and-half, cheese, garlic, and Tabasco. Bring almost to simmer, then reduce heat. Cook 5 minutes, but do not boil. Toss with cooked fettucine; top mixture with Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
