Ingredients
- 2 # stew meat
- 2 TBS shortening
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1 medium onion
- bay leaves
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- dash ground allspice
- carrots cut up
- potatoes peeled & quartered
- 3 TBS flour
Preparation
Step 1
brown meat in shortening. add 4 cups hot water and next 9 ingredients. cover; simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. add vegetables; cover & cook 30-45 minutes until vegetables are tender. slowly blend 1/3 cup cold water into the 3 TBS flour. stir slowly in stew mixture.
