Sausage Egg Breakfast Casserole

Fluffy, hardy and plenty to feed a large crowd! Always a favorite...

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage, browned and drained
  • 4-1/2 cups of day old bread cubed, not crusts.
  • (I like to use sour dough bread)
  • 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese
  • 10 eggs, beaten
  • 4 cups of half & half
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degree.
Brown sausage & drain
Spray Pam in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Beat eggs, half & half and spices, until frothy.
Put bread cubes in dish, sprinkle crumbled sausage over bread, sprinkle shredded cheese over sausage, then slowly pour egg mixture over the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake for 1 hour or until slightly browned and set in the center.
