Apple City BBQ Sauce

This is a world championship BBQ Sauce that I got from the newspaper about 10 years ago. It is incredible! The accompanying blackening seasoning recipe go hand in hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 c ketchup
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1/4 c cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c apple juice
  • 2 tbl Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 small sweet onion, food processed to a pulp
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, food processed to a pulp
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • brown sugar to taste
  • 1 small sweet apple, food processed to pulp

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients except apple in medium saucepan. Simmer over low heat 5-10 minutes. Add pulped apple and simmer 5 minutes longer.

Rub meat with Magic Dust Rub (see recipe here on Key Ingredient) before you put it on the BBQ

Use as finishing sauce and table sauce with BBQ/smoked meat

Refrigerate unused sauce for up to one week.

I seperated the recipes because I use the Magic Dust Rub on many different things on the grill.
