Hazelnut pork with blackberry pear sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless pork chops
  • 1/4 cup toasted bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts or walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped fresh pear
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons corn starch

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Arrange chops in a baking dish.

Combine bread crumbs, nuts, onion powder and pepper; sprinkle evenly over chops.

Bake for 35 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F.

In a small saucepan, stir together onion, pear, blackberries, sage, sugar and cornstarch. Cook over medium-low heat until fruit becomes juicy and mixture thickens. Serve sauce over chops.
