Make your own pumpkin puree for pies baking recipes and soups

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized pumpkin. (Larger pumpkins tend to take on a grainy texture.

Preparation

Step 1

Cut open the pumpkin and remove the seeds and strings.
Cut pumpkin into four to eight pieces.
Line a baking pan with foil to eliminate mess.
Place pumpkin onto baking pan and bake at 375 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Make sure pulp is soft.
Remove from rind with spoon and discard rind.
Blend pulp until smooth with a blender or food processor.

Can be frozen for a short period of time.
