Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 scallions, coarsley chopped
- 3/4 lb mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 4 NY strip or sirloin steaks
- 2 Tbsp butter
Preparation
Step 1
In a non-metalic dish, combine 1/2 the garlic, and red wine, soy sauce, vinegar, thyme, and pepper. Coat steaks, cover and marinade in fridge for 2-3 hrs. (turn ocasionally)
In skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add remaining garlic, plus scallions, and mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms start to give their liquid (2-3 min). Slowly stir in flour and cook until flour is absorbed (30 sec.)
Remove steaks from marinade (reserve). Stir marinade into the skillet and cook until it boils and thickens (1-2 min). Reduce heat to low and simmer until steaks are done. Serve steaks with sauce.
