Baked Ziti - Orlando Sentinel

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces ziti pasta, cooked
  • 1/2 pound EACH - lean ground beef and turkey, cooked
  • 4 cups chunky pasta sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, divided
  • 8 ounces shredded low-fat mozzarella, divided
  • 15 ounces low-fat cottage cheese
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat 9x13 pan with cooking spray.

Mix meat, sauce, 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning and pasta; spread half in pan. Top with half of mozzarella. Mix cottage cheese, egg whites, 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese and remaining Italian seasoning. Spread this mixture over mozzarella. Spread remaining pasta mixture and top with remaining cheeses. Bake 40 minutes.
