Ingredients
- 2 1/2 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1 1 cup Crisco(must be crisco-no butter
- Place flour, Crisco and salt in a bowl and mix with hand pastry blender until dough resembles small peas.
- In another small bowl, light mix
- 1 1 1 egg
- 1 1 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup cold water(if more is needed, add a teaspoon at a time)
- 5 5 5 pounds Rome apples peeled, cored and sliced
- 1 1/2 1 1/2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 2 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup cornstarch or flour
- 1 1 1 tablespoon butter, sliced into small pieces
Preparation
Step 1
Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch or flour and place inside bottom crust in deep-dish glass pie plate. Top with butter slices' Place top crust on pie; pinch sides together to seal and cut air vents in top. Brush top with egg white and sprinkle with sugar. Place pie on cookie sheet, Bake at 350F. for 1 to 1 1/2 hours
