Ingredients
- 1-1/3 cups flour {5.75oz}
- 2/3 c. {3oz} + 1/3 c. {2.25oz} brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup quick oats {1.25oz}
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2/3 cup water {5oz}
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups apples, peeled, sliced {12oz}
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325°F {300°F for convection oven}
Mix flour, ⅔ cup brown sugar, oats and butter. Pat half of the mixture into an 8” square pan.
In a large saucepan, combine ⅓ cup brown sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch. Stir in water and cook 8-10 minutes over med-heat until thickened.
Add vanilla and apples and stir to coat. Spread over crumbs in pan and top with remaining crumbs.
Bake 50 minutes or until well browned. {45 minutes convection oven}
