Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- 1/4 cup dark rum, warmed
- 1 stick (4oz) Butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- pinch of salt
Preparation
Step 1
Soak raisins in rum until soft, 10 minutes. Drain; reserve rum. In medium saucepan melt butter and sugar over medium high heat. Add raisins, cream and salt. Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer, whisking, until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in reserved rum. Drizzle over pound cake, ice cream or poached pears. makes 2 cups
