Grilled Broccoli Parma Style

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh broccoli
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • Juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

To prepare vegetables: Using sharp knife, trim any leafy stems from broccoli. Peel stalks, smoothing bumps as you peel. Trim all but 3 1/2 inches of stalk from broccoli. Hold each stalk with florets down vertically on cutting board. Cut each stalk in half, slicing through florets. Place broccoli in large glass or ceramic dish. In another bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mix well and pour over broccoli. Toss to coat. Cover and marinate 30 minutes.

To Grill Vegetables:
Just before grilling, toss broccoli once. Sprinkle cheese evenly over both sides. Cover and cook with vents open over medium, direct heat (use outer edges of grid), 10 minutes each side.
