Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 package dried apples
- 3 cups water
- cornstarch to, thicken
- sugar and cinnamon, to taste
- Dough:
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup milk
Preparation
Step 1
*Filling:*
Cook apples in water until tender. Add cornstarch and cook until thickened. Mix in sugar, and cinnamon. Refrigerate over night.
*Dough:*
Mix flour, shortening and milk until soft dough.
Roll out thin and cut in circle. Add a few spoons of filling onto cough circle. Fold over in half and crimp with fork.
Fry in hot lard until golden brown. Serve hot with ice cream.
