Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1 doz clams
  • 1 lg can tomatoes
  • '1/2 lb bacon pieces
  • 5 onions
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 2 tbsp thyme
  • Bunch of soup greens
  • 2-3 med. potatoes
  • salt to taste
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 carrots

Preparation

Step 1

put bacon, tomatoes, barley, onions, thyme, celery, carrots and 4 quarts of water in large pot. Bring slowly to a boil. Boil about 2 hours. Have potatoes, cut small and ready to add. Last add clams that have been put through a chopper and cut parsley.
Boil 20 mins.
Serve hot with crackers.
