Ingredients
- 1 pkg lemon cake mix
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 pkg (8oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Candied lemon peel (if desired for garnish)
Preparation
Step 1
Heat 350 degrees. Beat cake mix, butter, and 1 egg in large bowl with electric mixer on low until crumbly. Press into bottom of ungreased 13 X 9 X 2 pan.
Beat cream cheese in medium bowl on medium speed until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar on low speed. Stir in lemon peel and juice until smooth. Reserve 1/2 cup; refrigerate. Beat remaining 2 eggs into remaining cream cheese mixture over medium speed until blended. Spread over cake mixture.
Bake 25 minutes or until set. Cool completely (about 1 hour) and spread reserved cream cheese mixture over top. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm. Cut into 8 rows by 6 rows to create 48 bars.
