Grilled Pineapple

This is wonderful served with bratwurst patties, but it is absolutely sinful served over ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole pineapple, sliced and cored (8-10 slices)
  • 1/4 Cup honey
  • 2 TB. water
  • 1/2-1 tsp. POWDERED GINGER (ARIZONA DREAMING is also great, but not with ice cream)

Preparation

Step 1

Get your grill nice and hot. Cut off both ends of the pineapple and discard. We have found that pineapple slices hold up better and are less likely to break in half if you slice the pineapple into rounds first, then remove the core and lastly pare away the outer skin. Be sure to cut away any dark bits. Vigorously whisk together the honey, water and GINGER/ARIZONA DREAMING. Brush both sides of the pineapple with the glaze and grill over high heat, 3-5 minutes per side. Turn carefully by sliding a spatula underneath. Be sure to watch carefully, as the glaze can go from a nice caramel color to black very quickly.
