Cream of Asparagus Soup

6 cups of asparagus
6 cups poultry stock
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
1/2 cup half and half
enough milk to simmer asparagus in

Wash asparagus and remove tips.
Simmer tips in small amount of milk. Cut stalks into pieces.
In a large saucepan combine poultry stock, onion, celery and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain through a sieve.

Melt butter and stir in flour. Next stir in cream. Add asparagus stock then add asparagus tips. Salt, pepper and paprika to taste.
