Ingredients
- 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lrg. yellow onion, cut into wedges
- 1 lb. chicken sausage (or regular sausage)
- 7 fresh sage leaves
- 3 cups apple cider
- coarse salt
- ground pepper
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a large skillet or shallow heavy pot, heat oil over medium high. Add onion and sausages and cook until sausages are deep golden brown (approximately 6 minutes) turning sausages and stirring half way.
2. Add sage and cider. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a rapid simmer and cook until syrupy and coats back of spoon (approximately 30 minutes).
Great with green veg., potatoes or serve in rolls!
