Ingredients
- 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 cups milk
- 1 box Hamburger Helper® stroganoff
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 can (2.8 oz) French-fried onions
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped red, green and/or yellow bell pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
Preparation
Step 1
1 In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
2 Stir in hot water, milk, sauce mix and uncooked pasta (from Hamburger Helper box) and pepper flakes. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
3 Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the French-fried onions, the bell pepper and ketchup.
4 Cover; simmer about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. To serve, sprinkle with remaining onions.
