Strawberry Freeze

Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 15 oz partially thawed strawberries, sliced
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 TB lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Crust:
Melt butter in medium size pan. Stir in flour, sugar, nuts. Spread in large ungreased pan. Bake 375' oven for 15 - 20 minutes. Stirring twice until nicely brown. Remove from oven. Break up into small pieces. Scatter 2/3 of crumbs in ungreased 9 x 13 pan.
Filling:
In large bowl, put egg whites, sugar, strawberries, and lemon juice. Beat on high speed until thickened and volume is increased. Spread on base and freeze.
