Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tbs. shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup mashed banana
- 3 cups flour
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3". Mix sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly. Stir in bananas and milk. Measure flour. Blend dry ingredients; stir in. Pour into pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until toothpick stuck into center comes out clean. (Crack in top of loaf is characteristic.) Cool thoroughly before slicing with thin, sharp knife.
DO NOT USE GLASS LOAF PAN!
