Bacon Cheddar Hush Puppies

Ingredients

• Spicy Ranch Sauce
• 1/2 cup Ranch Dressing
• 1/2 tsp chili powder
• 1/2 tsp red pepper sauce
• Hush Puppies
• Oil for deep frying
• 2 cups cornmeal mix
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 egg
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp pepper
• 1 cup shredded cheddar
• 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix all sauce ingredients, put if fridge til ready to serve.

2. In deep fryer or heavy 3 qt saucepan heat 2 inches of oil to 360. In medium bowl, stir cornmeal mix, buttermilk, egg, salt and pepper. Stir in cheese in bacon.

3. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into hot oil. Fry 2-3 minutes, turning several times until golden brown. Drain on cooling rack over paper towels. Serve hush puppies with Spicy Ranch Sauce.
