Pear Grunt

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups sliced pears
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter together then add eggs and mix well.

Blend flour, salt an baking powder together and add to mixture.

Mix soda with milk and vanilla then mix all together.

Add pear slices and pour batter into a buttered baking dish.
In a separate bowl combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle over pear batter then bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Delicious served warm with vanilla ice ceam.
