Meatballs in Mushroom Sauce
By NickiR
This was my children's favorite meal. It was their pick for their birthday dinner.
My children are grown; in fact, my son died two years ago. I still make this on his birthday, in memory of him.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1/2 - 1 cup oatmeal
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. powdered garlic
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 soup can of water
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Combine the ground beef, one half cup of the oatmeal, eggs, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, salt and garlic in a bowl. Mix together with your hands; if the mixture is too wet, add more oatmeal as required. Roll into meatballs.
In a large skillet, fry the meatballs in olive oil, turning frequently.
Add the mushrooms once the meatballs are cooked.
Pour in the mushroom soup, water, and the remaining tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir well, bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve over rice.
