Pound Cake or Lamb Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 3 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and shortening sift flour and baking powder together. Add egg yolks to sugar, butter mixture. Add vanilla. Alternate flour and milk. Beat egg whites, fold in. Bake 45-60 min 350. Lambs-350 40 minutes face down. An additional 15 minutes face up.
