Cornbread Dressing

  • Cornbread (from Grandmother Rogers recipe)
  • 1 loaf white bread, crust off
  • celery
  • 1 sm onion
  • chicken stock
  • ground sage
  • salt
  • pepper
  • poultry seasoning
  • eggs, boiled & raw

Preparation

Step 1

Cut cornbread & white bread into caramel size pieces. Spread out on a cookie sheet & let dry for 2 days.
4 parts cornbread to 1 part white bread.

Saute onion & celery in turkey broth. Chop boiled eggs. Add ground sage to taste. Add a little salt & pepper & poultry seasoning. Combine all ingredients. Beat 1 egg & add to dry mixture. Add as much chicken stock as needed & work all ingredients together, but not too much. Cover w/ foil & bake at 375. Uncover for last 15 minutes.
