Saucy Apple Swirl Cake

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 tsp. grou8nd cinnamon
• 1 package yellow cake mix
• 1-2/3 cups applesauce
• 3 eggs
• Sifted powdered sugar, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside. Beat cake mix, applesauce and eggs in a large bowl till just combined.

Reserve 1-1/2 cups batter and set aside. Pur remaining batter into a greased 10-inch fluted tube pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture; top with reserved batter.

Bake cake in a 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan. Cool thoroughly. Sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
