Ingredients
- 12 red apples
- 1 C water
- 3 C granulated sugar
- 1 C corn syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp red food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
Wash and dry apples. Insert a wooden skewer in the stem end. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a saucepan combine the sugar, water and corn syrup. Heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Cover and bring to a boil. Boil uncovered without stirring until 300° on a candy thermometer.
Blend in the cinnamon and red food coloring. Remove from heat. Tip saucepan and dip apples in the syrup turning to coat evenly. Place on sheet pan to harden.
