Ingredients

  • 2 C flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 3/4 t salt
  • 3/4 C butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 t vanilla
  • 1 small bottle maraschino cherries
  • 1/4 C crushed Rice Krispies
  • 1/4 C chopped nuts
  • 1/4 C softened butter

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, beat well. Add combined dry ingredients to form dough.

Cut dough into 4 equal amounts. Working with one at a time, keeping others refrigerated until used, pat out into rectangle. Spread 1/4 amount of combined cherries, krispies, nuts and butter onto dough. Roll up and close ends. Complete other 3 portions in same way. Chill rolls 2 hours before baking.

Slice thin and bake on greased sheet 375 deg 5-6 mins. Cool slightly before moving to wire racks.
