Ingredients
- 4 cups sliced tart apples (about four medium Granny Smith green apples)
- 2/3 to 3/4 cup packed brown sugar*
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Three -quarter teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375°
Arrange the apples and agrees to square pan, 8 x 8 x 2". Next the remaining ingredients; sprinkle over the apples. Bake until topping is golden brown and apples are tender, about 30 minutes. Serve warm and if desired with whipped cream or ice cream.
* you may substitute apricot, cherry, peach or pineapple by using canned fruit and less brown sugar.
