Oven Baked Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 lbs beef stew meat
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 16 oz can tomatoes (drain and cut)
  • 10 1/2 oz can condensed beef broth
  • 2 cups cubed peeled potatoes
  • 1 cup celery
  • 4 medium carrots sliced
  • 3 small onions quartered

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Heat oil in 4 quart Dutch oven over medium heat
3. Brown beef cubes in oil. Add flour, salt, garlic powder, marjoram and pepper
4. Stir in tomatoes and beef broth; mix well
5. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring frequently
6. Add remaining ingredients; mix well
7. Cover and bake for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Stir twice during baking. Remove bay leaf
