Pasta con Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 16 oz pasta cavatelli noodles (or bow ties)
  • 1 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 pint of half-and-half
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 cups broccoli cut up (I use 2 frozen bags 12-oz each)
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cook pasta 5 minutes, then add broccoli and cook additional 3 minutes.
2. Drain water, do NOT rinse pasta off.
3. While pasta is cooking, in seperate pan, melt butter in pan. Stir in tomato paste, half-and-half, garlic & mushrooms. Heat up, but do not let boil.
4. Pour mixture over pasta & broccoli. Add tomatoes and cheese. Stir and serve.
