Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 large baking apples
  • 3 tbls brown sugar
  • 2 tbls butter
  • 2 tbls heavy cream
  • 1/4 nutmeg
  • 1/2 light rum
  • 1 tbls cornstarch
  • 2 tbls cold water
  • Rind 1 orange

Preparation

Step 1

core apples making room for filler

Mix brown sugar with butter in small bowl
Stir in cream and nutmeg

Pour rum into bottom of casserole and fill apple cavities with cream mixture

Cover and microwave 11 min.

Remove apples,
Add orange rind to juices in casserole,
mix cornstarch with water, stir into sauce to thicken.... Microwave 1 minute then pour over apples
