Ingredients
- Filling:
- 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1 1/2 lb boneless pork steak, cut into 1/2" cubes
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- Sauce:
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 T cornstarch
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1 T sherry
- 1/4 c water
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the thawed bread dough into 16 equal pieces.
Combine the filling ingredients and mix with pork cubes and brown in pan with oil until browned about 5 minutes. Add onion and saute until tender. Roll each dough piece in a 4 1/2" round and put 2 T meat filling on, pull up edges and pinch closed. Place buns pinched sides down 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Cover and let rise 20 min. Brush with melted butter and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Combine the sauce ingredients over low heat until mixed and thickened: serve over pies.
