Pumpkin Pie

Recipe from my godmother, Wanita Clark (Aunt Dolly). This is the only pumpkin pie I like

Ingredients

  • 1 large can pumpkin (1 lb 13 oz)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 unbaked deep pie shell - 10" or 2 9" unbaked pie shells

Preparation

Step 1

Combine evaporated milk and cream and heat to scalding point.

In the meantime, combine pumpkin, sugars, spices and eggs.

Immediately add the heated milk and cream mix. Mix well.

Pour into unbaked pie shell.

Bake 350. 1 1/2 hour for 10" or 1 hour for 9"

Pie is done when a knife inserted near the rim comes out clean.
