Pat's Garlic Dill Pickles

Ingredients

  • 3 qts water
  • 1 qt vinegar
  • 1 cup coarse salt
  • 1/4 tsp alum
  • garlic cloves
  • fresh dill weed

Preparation

Step 1

Crush garlic cloves and add to jars with dill weed.
Put washed cucumbers in jars and add 1/4 tsp of alum to each jar.
Bring water, vinegar and coarse salt to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
Add liquid to jars, seal and turn up side down till cooled.
Leave sealed for 6 weeks.
