Cherry Jubilee Sauce

Ingredients

  • # 1/2 cup sugar
  • # 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • # 1/4 cup water
  • # 1/4 cup orange juice
  • # 3 cups sweet fresh cherries, pitted
  • # 1/2 teaspoon orange rind
  • # 1/4 cup brandy (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in med saucepan.
2. Add water and orange juice; blend well.
3. Cook and stir until smooth and thickened.
4. Add cherries and orange peel; bring to boil and simmer 10 minute.
5. Gently heat brandy in separate pan, pour over sauce and ignite, if desired.
