Ingredients
- Glaze:
- Cake
- 2 T poppy seeds
- 1/4 C milk
- 3 C flour
- 32 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 1/4 C unsalted butter
- 1 3/4 C sugar
- 1 T finely grated orange zest
- 2 t vanilla
- 3/4 C orange juice
- 1 C confectioners sugar
- 1 t orange zest
- 3 - 4 T orange juice
Preparation
Step 1
1. Soak poppy seeds in milk in bowl for 2 hours.
2. Preheat oven to 350 deg. Grease and flur Bundt pan.
3. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in bowl.
4. Beat butter til smooth. Gradually beat in sugar til light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beat well. Beat in orange zest, vanilla and poppy seed mixture. Beat in flour mixture alternately with orange juice in 3 additions. Begin and end with flour. Pour batter in prepared pan.
5. Bake 40 - 45 minutes. Toothpick comes out of center clena. Cool in pan for 15 mins. Invert onto rack and cool completely.
6. Make glaze by combining all glaze ingredients. Place cake on waxed paper. Pour glaze over entire cake.
